Due to unactive members we have decided to make new rules for each board. These rules must be stuck by, if not you will get a warning & possibly a ban. - Only post pictures here of celebrities that don't have their own forum.
- Only create a new thread if you have something to say about the celebrity.
- Do not just post a candid/event set unless you want to say something about it.
- No spamming to get your post count up. E.G posting replies that say just 'thanks'
Thanks, The Staff

That's right, here are some members that just post and post and post...new threads without any sense, just with pictures. It's quite annoying.

I think that last rule is pretty stupid. Most of the time I don't have "a whole bunch of stuff" to say about the pictures that are posted. I'm not going to spend 5 minutes replying to each picture or whatever post. But I do like to thank the person for taking time to post the pictures, that's why I like to just say "thanks".

It has nothing to do with getting post count up, I don't think anybody that is still here gives a crap about getting their post count up. There are only like 15 people who post regularly. Anyway...

I think calling our rule/rules stupid, is quite disrespectful, herecomestr0uble. We have spent time thinking about newer members, not just older members like you. But I do agree, often the only thing to say is, thanks, but we are trying to get conversation going on the board, thus making it more active & fun, no one can start a conversation on just thanks. Do you see what we mean? We don't expect an essay from anyone, but each person will have their own point of view on the photos posted, we want members to post that.

This all seems sort of strange.... if people don't want to have conversations about picture posts [and obviously they don't, which is why there are so few conversations *about* picture posts], how is a set of restrictive rules going to foster conversations? Board activity is an organic thing; it happens when people are interested enough AND interesting enough to participate in conversations. That isn't something you can mandate or even, IMHO, encourage, let alone control. If people wanted to participate like they did in the "old days" then they would - the mere fact that people aren't doing this shows that things have changed. I can see someone bemoaning the fact that the board is different and that they wish it was more like it was at X time in the past, but attempting to manufacture a participatory spirit among users? I just don't see that as an answer. If you really want to foster and promote more interaction, then it's the responsibility of the old timers and mods to write posts that engage people and make them want to participate; you can't simply make up rules delimiting *how* people can, or should, participate. Bottom line - if there is something people want to write about and discuss, then they will. If the board is not what it was in the past, then it isn't. Making more rules for people to follow, to better organize the board or something, is just going to turn a LOT of people off and DECREASE participation and involvement. If you want to get people to participate, make it as easy as possible for them to do so, if you want to control what is discussed and the format in which posts are made, then expect participation to fall even further. Just one man's opinion though....

Yes I understand what you are saying. I just think you should reword it. I dont think THAT should be the rule, rewording the rule as you just told me makes more sense.

If anything, I think they will turn people off from posting if you DEMAND that each post is something specific. I definitely agree with what this user said.
